Plot

Luke fon Fabre is the 17-year-old son of Duke Fabre, a noble of the Kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear. He lost his memory after a childhood kidnapping incident, and since then he's been confined to his family's manor grounds in Baticul for his own safety. Bored and stifled, he's waiting impatiently for the day he'll finally reach adulthood and be allowed out of his manor's confines - but the prophecy known as the Score has other plans...

After an assassination attempt leads to an unexpected fonic resonance, Luke is unwillingly transported halfway across the world, with only the assassin, Tear, for company. Luke would like nothing better than to return straight home, where he knows what's going on, and Tear would love to get him back safely and be rid of him. Unfortunately for them both, they've ended up further away from Baticul than they first thought, and landed directly in the middle of a complicated political situation. They're quickly caught up in a whole tangle of plots and schemes, involving church schisms, political tensions, and rogue God-Generals. Along with their (reluctant) allies, they'll have to deal with the lingering fallout of the last war while trying to prevent another one, uncover secrets that have been kept for 2000 years, and maybe even solve the mystery of Luke's kidnapping and his lost memories.
